As a beauty product obsessed woman, my shower routine tends to be pretty intensive. While I’m showering, I like for my showers to feel as luxe as possible because it’s a form of self care for me. I use my time in the shower to prepare my mind for the day and use it as my personal sanctuary. But when you have busy days, it can be hard to fit in a 30 to 45 min shower or even an hour if you like to take EXTREMELY long showers.

You’ll be surprised with how much you can actually get done in the shower if you do it the right way.

Prep your body before getting in the shower

Start by brushing your hair, brushing your teeth, cleansing your face etc. This will save you a lot of time in the shower. As of lately, I have been “dry brushing” my skin before getting in the shower to exfoliate my body before I jump in the shower.

Turn Down the Temperature

I love a long hot shower as much as the next person, but they are not doing anything for your skin. Lukewarm water is good enough to keep your body’s natural oils.

Take advantage of the steam from your hot shower! While in the shower, try to fit in a face mask. The steam from the shower will open up for pores and allow the face mask to penetrate through your skin. This is one of my favorite things to do after a workout! My skin feels so refreshing afterwards.

I do not wash my hair everyday (due to my hair texture) but when I do wash my hair, once  week I like to apply a deep conditioning hair mask. While deep conditioning in the shower, the steam helps the hair mask penetrate through my skin and I’m able to multitask while deep conditioning.

Body Care

When it comes to shaving, this is where the prep comes in. Since I like to dry brush before getting in the shower, this saves so much time when it comes to shaving. Also, make sure you use a razor that has sharp blades!

Post Shower

Am I the only one who HATES moisturizing after a shower? Sometimes I feel like it’s an unnecessary step that adds more time to your routine (especially if you’re always late like me). When you’re drying off your body, add a moisturizer to damp skin. I have super dry skin and I like to add a body oil to damp skin because it helps lock in the moisture.

When getting out of the shower, who wants to step on the cold tile? I love a good soft bath mat!

I love the idea of brushing teeth in the shower. It makes so much sense but I’ve never thought to do it. I’ve also been hearing a lot about dry brushing. I want to try that too!

Oh wow this is incredible to do list for taking a shower!! I hates moisturizing post-shower because most of the time I live in a hot & humid country and I seems to never dry!!

I dry brush my body in circular motions to exfoliate and help with circulation! It also helps with stretch marks.

Great post. I haven’t tried to brush my teeth in the shower and that is such a cool idea to do.

This type of a shower sounds like a dream …. 🙂 LOL as a hectic mom I feel pampered if I get 2 min in the shower without someone showing me something they brought in from the backyard… 🙂

These are amazing tips! Unfortunatly I have two kids and this is not possible for me. Most days I take a 5 minute shower, and twice per week I shave in the shower so it takes me extra 5 minutes. But on Sunday mornings I do indulge in long beauty routines, masks, hair care, etc!! I would also like to try the dry brushing I ‘ve heard many great things about it!

What a great shower routine! I also don’t wash my hair daily. Only do it twice a week. The brushing in shower is also a time saver!
