FIVE WAYS TO BE MORE PRODUCTIVE

Being productive may seem like an impossible goal, but it doesn’t have to be that way. As they say, we have the same amount of hours in a day as Beyoncé. It happens to all of us! We have to-do lists that’s a mile long that we just want to hide and watch Netflix all day or take a nap.

1.) Wake up Early

Naturally, I’m an early riser. I wake up between 6:30-7:00am and yes I sometimes wake up this early on the weekends. If you have an extremely long to-do list, it helps to set an alarm and wake up early. When I get up early, I’m less distracted by texting or social media. It also helps when I’m working at coffee shop so I can get the best seat. There’s a lot of things you can get done early. Such as going to the gym and running errands. If you push your tasks until later on in the day, then you have pretty much wasted most of the day.

2.) Learn the Power of saying No

In my corporate life, I’ve gotten more comfortable with saying no. At work, I go on a lot of lunch dates and attend events. It’s nice to get out of the office a little bit but if I have a lot going on, I’m going to say no. This gives you the chance to focus on the tasks you have to complete.

3.) Make a List

This is self explanatory. Make a list and prioritize them by importance. It feels really good to cross things off of your to do list! Also, another thing I like to do is make a list for the next day. If there has been some tasks that I did not make it to, I like to make a list to set myself up for the next day. That way when I get into the office, I already have my day planned out.

4.) Eat Breakfast

When they say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, it’s the truth! I always have to make sure I have something in my stomach before I start work for the day. Whether is a granola bar or a piece of fruit. Eating breakfast in the morning helps me stay focused!

5.) Outsource

There is nothing wrong with delegating things. This has been a lifesaver for me! Hire someone to deep clean your house once a month. By the way, Groupon has some really great deals for cleaning crews! I also utilize Instacart for my groceries and Postmates or Uber Eats when I do not feel like leaving the house to get food. Grocery shopping and cleaning your house can really take a lot of time out of your day.

Outsource tasks that would take so much of your time so you could focus on the important things. That’s what I do and yes, I can say I have been productive ever since.

Great tips, and I definitely agree about the waking up early. You can accomplish so many more things if you just wake up an hour before your normal wake up time plus since I have four kids it’s a lot quieter at that time too!
