*disclaimer, this post was in collaboration with The Jekyll Island Club Resort and I received two comped stays. All opinions are my own.*

I have been living in Atlanta for over 5 years now and I have always wanted to take a trip to the Georgia Coast and it’s Golden Isles. I wanted to get at least one beach trip in before Summer ended and Jekyll Island was the perfect location.

The Jekyll Island Club Hotel has been listed on the Historic Hotels of America list and is considered a Georgia Historical Landmark. While the property does offer modern amenities, it’s still holding on to it’s Southern Charm.

The amazing team at The Jekyll Island Club Hotel hosted myself and a guest during our visit — and we loved every moment of our experience! If you’re planning a trip to Jekyll Island, I highly recommend the Jekyll Island Club Resort!

Why did I pick Jekyll Island? Jekyll Island is the perfect location to get away and RELAX. I loved that Jekyll Island is a little more secluded and quiet. You still have access to the golf clubs, beach, restaurants and local shops! If you wanted to get around on the island, Jekyll Island Club Hotel will be glad to schedule a shuttle to pick you up.

We stayed in The Clubhouse which was built in 1888! We were lucky enough to get a room on the end and the woman at the front desk told us we had one of the largest rooms in our area. I loved that the room was updated but still held on to that good ole Southern Charm. We had an amazing view of the front of the property and could watch the guests playing croquet.

There are so many dining options on Jekyll Island Resort that honestly, you don’t even have the leave the hotel! With four dining options and one bar area, you’ll have plenty to choose from when it comes to having a great meal! The first night, we had dinner at The Wharf. Located on the pier over looking the water, The Wharf focuses on Southern Favorites and they will have a live band playing. Can I just say the fuego margarita is to die for!! Also, the calamari and the fish in my fish tacos were so fresh! I honestly cannot wait to go back to the Wharf so I can taste some of the other menu items.

We skipped out on breakfast Saturday morning and opted for an early poolside lunch at The Pool House. It can be hard to find a really good turkey burger, but The Pool House nailed it with their turkey burger. So much flavor, and tasted really fresh! What’s better than lounging by the pool with a cocktail and a very tasty meal? Can’t beat that!

The other dining options included The Pantry, Grand Dining Room, and The Lobby Bar for pre and post dinner cocktails.

You will never get bored while staying at Jekyll Island Club Resort. Your vacation isn’t complete with out experiencing with your destination has to offer right? Recreation such as tennis, golf and croquet. Water activities, nature and ecology, shopping and more! There’s something for everyone to participate in!

Indian Mound Golf Course

The Indian Mound Golf Course is such a beautiful course!! We had an 8 am tee time, and it was perfect to watch the sunrise and capture the beautiful creatures that just so happen to join us on the course (LOL).

Jekyll Wheels

Looking to explore the island? Jekyll Wheels is the perfect way to do it! 20 miles of historic sites, forests and more! You can rent bikes with Jekyll Wheels. Also, if you’re bringing your own bike, Jekyll Wheels can service your bike and has storage available as well.

When arriving on the property, you will be graced with The Croquet Lawn. I thought this was so fascinating since I have never seen one in person! The Croquet Lawn is complimentary to the guests staying on the resort.

Pools and Beaches

We had to make sure we squeezed in a pool and beach visit! Saturday we lounged by the pool and then we headed over to the Jekyll Ocean Club to chill on the beach and hang poolside. As a guest of the Jekyll Resort, you also had access to the beach and pool at the Ocean Club! I thought this was pretty cool because you were able to experience both properties.

I’m already looking forward to planning my next visit to the Jekyll Island Club Resort!! If you’re looking to visit Jekyll Island, I highly recommend!

Again, thank you so much to the team at Jekyll Island for making this possible!
