Is it time to switch up your skincare products?
Let's talk skincare. Lately, Ive been hating my skin lately, like almost to the point where I want to get a new skin. (Does that make sense? LOL). For some reason my skin has been in SHAMBLES and it has me thinking that it may be time to change my products.
I have consistently used the same products for 3 years now. I've done this because I felt like I have gotten my skin under control. But as of lately, I feel like my skin has gotten use to those products.
Typically, you have to change some of your products during the season. I have combo/oily skin and I get reallllllllly oily in my t-zone. I also get very dry on the outer parts of my face. Me personally, my skin doesn't change during the seasons..
Now I'm a firm believer in sticking to what you know. But it gets to the point where those products just isn't cutting it anymore.
I have done everything to figure out why my skin has been acting up. Here's some things you should consider:
1.) What is your eating habits and are you drinking water? What you put in your body can have a HUGE effect on your skin. I eat healthy 80% of the time but when I eat unhealthy or slack on my water intake, it does have an effect on my skin.
2.) When was the last time you cleaned your makeup brushes? Makeup brushes and sponges leave residue and gunk from your makeup, so it's best to clean your brushes at least once a week. (See blog post on how I clean my brushes https://www.thelifewithnicole.com/makeup-1/2017/1/7/brush-cleansing-101).
3.) Have you tried out any new makeup products lately? Sometimes that can affect your skin also. You could either have a reaction to the product or it's just taking some time for your skin to get used to it.
I went to Sephora and picked up a new face wash from Origins and its the Zero Oil cleanser. I'm pretty excited to try it out to see what the does for me. It has salicylic acid which will help out with clearing up acne.
I will definitely come back with a review on this face wash to see how this is!
